This is a rundown of who will be teaching your childs' gymnastics.
Meet Your Teacher
Kevin O’Brien graduated from Ball State University, where he was on the BSU’s Men’s gymnastics team. After graduation, he was the assistant coach of the BSU’s Womens’ Gymnastics Team. Kevin is on the Board of Directors of the IN-USAG (The state governing body of women’s gymnastics) and on the National teaching staff of the USAG (the national governing body of gymnastics). Kevin certifies gymnastics pre-school teachers. Kevin has taught gymnastics for over 25 years.
Terra O’Brien Graduated Ball State University where she was on the BSU’s Women’s Gymnastics team. Terra received a teaching degree in Physical Education K through 12 and minored in coaching. Terra has taught gymnastics for over 30 years. Terra is Safety, Skill evaluator, KAT and PDP certified.
Victoria O’Brien is a level 9 gymnast at Hoosiers. She is the daughter of Kevin and Terra O’Brien, so she has been in the gym all of her life. Victoria teaches school age classes and the Level 3 team. Because of her training schedule, Victoria has only a few classes. Victoria is PDCP and Safety certified.
Cindy Kleyn has been in gymnastics for over 20 years as a competitor, instructor, coach and judge. She was head coach of the Pike High School girls’ gymnastics team for 5 years. Cindy has a Bachelor of Arts from U of I, a Masters of Science from Butler University and has worked on advanced degrees in leadership training and brain compatible learning. Cindy is our morning pre-school director.
Marty Vaughan is a science professor at IUPUI. He is also an instructor of Martial Arts. Marty will be assisting with the Boys’ team as well as running the Karate classes upstairs at the gym.
